Warm up Exercise
Exercise 1
My Working Space, 2026, Ink, A2 size
I used Lumograph pencils and ink on Canson A2 paper.
In the work, I aimed to express neat and orderly sense of my personal space.
Although I used a two-point perspective method and ruler to construct the lines, I also attempted to incorporate a degree of freehand and organic expressions.
Module 2
Exercise 1,2,3
Exercise 6
Three presences-figure proportion study, 2026, Charcoal, Soft Pastel, A3
I wanted to convey a sense of movement in this work. I asked the model to pose in three different positions. By overlapping the figures, I aimed to create a more abstract effect, resulting in a more expressive and moving flow composition.
Module3
Landscape Collage
Introduction of Roma Queensland, 2026, Ink, A2
This work introduces my region through landscape ink drawings, which I assembled into a collage.
This collage is made by 7 different landscape drawings.
The radish like plant in the centre is a bottle tree, an iconic symbol of the Roma region. The landscape is characterised by long country roads and flat terrain, with the road extending towards the horizon. I aimed to capture this sense of openness and distance in the composition.
Painting
Module 1
Exercise 1 to 5
Process of Grisaille video
Portrait Study-Grisaille, 2026, oil, A3
This is my first grisaille work. I invested a great deal of time and effort to achieve a strong likeness to the reference model. Oil paint also takes a long time to dry, and the work took approximately two to three weeks to complete. In the end, I believe I was able to successfully capture the likeness of the subject.
Module 2
Weekend, 2026, oil, A2
Over a weekend, I asked my husband to be my model. I wanted him to adopt a pose that felt as comfortable and natural as possible, so I decided to paint him while he was paying a video game. I experimented with both yellow-red and yellow-blue grisaille palettes, but I prefer the yellow- blue version.
Module 3
Skin tone practice
Process of skin tone practice
Permeation, 2026, oil, on stretched canvas 30x40cm
I imagined myself I becoming like water, fluid, adaptable, and able to flow freely in any form. Through this transformation, I envision permeating Australian community and society, much like water moving through space. The white wavy lines represent caustic patterns on the surface of the water.
